Small Business Matching Grant
This application is all inclusive for the Façade Improvement Grant, Security Improvement Grant and Interior Upfit Improvement Grant.
Descriptions of the different grants are as follows:
The Facade Improvement Grant seeks to remove blight by assisting businesses and commercial property owners with improving building appearance and by bringing signs, parking and landscaping into conformance with current codes.
- Maximum grant awards are based on building square footage.
The Interior Upfit Improvement Grant assists commercial property owners and/or commercial tenants with improvements, and renovations to the interior of the business. This Grant seeks to provide an overall revitalization, especially if coupled with the Facade and Security Improvement Grants.
- Maximum grant award is $30,000.
- This grant can be paired with the Facade and Security Improvement Grants.
The Business Security Grant seeks to develop relationships between corridor businesses and community police officers while at the same time reducing the opportunity for crime by helping business and property owners create a safer environment for employees and customers. Businesses located within the Corridors of Opportunity geography are eligible for grants up to $15,000 to install camera systems and integrate them with CMPD’s Real Time Crime Center.
Maximum grant awards are as follows:
- All buildings (unless shopping center): $5,000
- Owners of shopping centers with 3 or more tenants: $20,000
- Individual shopping center tenants: $2,000
- Maximum grant awards are based on building square footage.

Maximum Awards
The program provides up to 50% reimbursement to commercial or industrial businesses or property owners for eligible renovation costs. A 60% reimbursement may be available on a case-by-case basis for utilization of certified Minority, Women or Small Business Enterprise (MWSBE) firms. Business Corridor Revitalization Geography. When you enter your project or business address in the application, the system will automatically look up if your address is in this geography and mark you as eligible or not.
